Banks Mansion hotel
The hotel is ideally situated along Amsterdam's historical Herengracht canal, opposite the official residence of the mayor, in a surprisingly quiet spot considering its central position. All museums and entertainment centres are within walking distance, as are the famous Amsterdam flower market, the Central Station and Rembrandtsplein.
Banks Mansion hotel
Renovated and reopened in 2004, the Banks Mansion Hotel is housed in a listed Amsterdam building. The compact lobby has stained glass windows, wooden floors and an attractive wood reception desk. It boasts a predominantly Delft blue colour scheme and its furnishings are reminiscent of an English country house. The 57 guestrooms vary in size due to the age of the building, but all are spacious enough. Maintained in very good condition, they are furnished in the style of the Berlage and Amsterdam schools of architecture, with burgundy curtains, leaded glass elements and wicker furniture. The en suite bathrooms have also been completely renovated and are in very good condition with black and white tiling and power showers. The hotel offers a rich Continental buffet every morning in the welcoming breakfast room, which is located on the lower ground floor. It features yellow banquette seating, wooden dressers and an imitation Aga cooker, creating a warm, homely atmosphere. The hotel’s 'Living' lounge serves as a quiet retreat. Here guests can sink back and relax in the luxurious armchairs for as long as they wish while enjoying the drinks and snacks which are 'on the house' and served at the royally furnished bar.
